dyno tuning

Here at Jordan Bikes we have a Dynojet Dyno rolling road tuning centre. The Dyno we have on site is a Dynojet 250i with the very latest Tuning Link software installed. We use the dyno constantly, both for tuning and engine set up, and also to diagnose problems. Often we are given a bike that\'s a bit lumpy at the bottom end, and without the dyno, there is no way of accurately telling just what the problem is. With the dyno we are able to see exactly how the bike is fuelling, all the way through the rev range, in every gear, and so it is very easy to diagnose a running problem. If the bike is running poorly but the dyno tells us that it fuelling OK, we then know that the problem must be something else, like an electrical fault.

If it is fuelling poorly, due to the carbs needing balancing, worn jets, or simply because someone has fitted an aftermarket race exhaust, we can rectify this with a carb balance, re-jet, or a re-map by way of a Power Commander or Juice Box.

We do a great deal of tuning work, to gain more power and torque, and below is a short explanation from Michael Whitham, our Aftersales Manager, as to how this works.

Every motorcycle is different, as they are all just machines, built to acceptable tolerance levels by the manufacturers, and built to satisfy stringent worldwide emmissions laws. Although manufacturers build tolerances are good, they are not perfect, and so ten identical bikes will actually put out ten different power outputs, and so we offer a truly bespoke tuning service, to get the most out of your individual bike. For the perfect ignition burn, you need a ration of 1 part fuel to 14.2 parts air. Very few bikes are actually running this exact ratio straight out of the factory, and so we can tune it to a far better ratio for you. If you fit a hi flow air filter (eg K & N) or an aftermarket exhaust, it can cause your bike to run lean which means too much air going in for the amount of fuel, so the ignition is not as great as it could be, as the ratio has changed. Re-jetting or a Power Commander or Juice Box will remedy this, and give you greater power and torque, and better rideability.

DYNOJET DYNO DEMONSTRATION VIDEO

Here we show you a CBR600RR undergoing an AFR (Air Fuel Ratio) power run, to determine the BHP of the bike, and more importantly, how it is fuelling throughout the rev range. This tells us whether the bike needs and tuning to make it better, or it could already be close to perfect without any tuning at all. This particular bike has an aftermarket exhaust fitted, and so will benefit from being re-mapped, which is easy in this case, as the bike also has a Power Commander fitted.
For just £29.99 we can do the same for you, and determine how well your bike runs, and more importantly, how well it COULD run.
