Used Honda VTR1000 SP2 for sale in Leeds

This is a stunning low mileage example of the mighty SP-2 (RC51) which was a 999cc fuel injected 90° V-Twin homologated superbike designed and developed by the Honda Racing Corporation (HRC) specifically to compete against Ducati's 916 and 'King Carl Fogarty's' domination of the class at the time. The VTR1000-SP-1 was introduced in 2000 and won the World Superbike title in its first year with Colin Edwards onboard. It was well known for being a bit of a handful out on the street, as it required much more rider input and throttle control than the more forgiving four cylinder Fireblade which was the superbike for the real world of this generation.
After the success of the SP-1, Honda's updated SP-2 was introduced for 2002, and was given a new press-forged longer swingarm, more rigid frame/engine interface, improved fuel injection with 12 jet injectors for more power (4bhp increase), 30mm taller screen for better protection, new exhaust system, new 5-spoke wheels, radiator fans both sides, and its dry weight was down by 5kg. The result was that the SP-2 and Colin went on to win their 2nd WSB title for that year.
This black colourway with the black frame was one of the last bikes off the production line for 2005/2006, and is now very rare to find in such immaculate condition and with such low mileage. This particular bike has also been enhanced with some Akrapovic exhausts which sound incredible (std exhausts are included), and also comes with a tinted front screen, and a rear hugger.
